Who We Are
The Transition… DSASO to Inclusion Works
In 1979, a group of parents whose children had Down Syndrome, formed an organization called the Down Syndrome Parent Association of Southern Oregon. In 1993, the official name became the Down Syndrome Association of Southern Oregon (DSASO). The vision of the founding parents was to provide networking and resources for families and promote positive awareness in our communities.
As DSASO began to evolve, the organization realized that the lives that were being touched were far more than just those who experienced Down syndrome. The organization shifted their vision, mission, and bylaws to align with being a part of cultivating a community where inclusion of ALL individuals is a normal, everyday occurrence.
The Goals of Inclusion Works are to:
GOAL #1 – Provide support and resources
GOAL #2 – Encourage active participation in the community
